G Medical specializes in DOT drug testing. We are a major provider in the Los Angeles area for DOT Physicals. We provide drug testing for practically every possible situation from random d
rug screening for court cases to instant drug testing kits you can use at our facility or take home. A drug test may be required for pre-employment, a long layoff due to injury (usually called return to duty ), a reasonable suspicion, or even due to an accident that occurred at the donor’s job that may be required for worker’s compensation claim.
What to do when you are notified to submit to a drug test:
A drug test may be required for pre-employment, a long layoff due to injury (usually called return to duty ), a reasonable suspicion, or even due to an accident that occurred at the donors job that may be required for worker’s compensation claim.
We also offer random drug testing for certain employers that may require their employees to participate in a drug program. The employee may be required to submit a specimen every week.
These tests can make sure that employees are not jeopardizing the safety or lives of clients, employees or the general public. In addition, property and equipment, sometimes valued in the millions of dollars, can be protected from unwarranted damages.
Passing the Drug Test
What does the drug test cover?
You will be required to provide 45 milliliters of urine (the minimum amount required). This urine will be checked to determine if it’s within the proper temperature range (which has to be between 96 –102 F). We also obtain a saliva specimen (which requires two vials: one for 30ml and the other 15ml).
We make sure you initial the security seal on each specimen bottle. This verifies that the specimen has not been contaminated and reduces the chances of tampering before reaching the testing lab. This process helps maintain the validity of the drug test results.
G Medical has partnered with local truck driving schools, courts, and employers around the area to provide drug testing. We welcome corporations, companies and employers needing their employees tested. You can click here to setup a business account .
Drug Screening Los Angeles
Samples will be sent to and be examined in a lab by a Medical Review Officer also known as a “MRO”. The lab results should be issued within 3-5 business days.
The results are certified by a medical review officer or medical officers from Quest Diagnostics. Quest Diagnostics is a world renowned medical and health testing facility.
This testing and handling procedure is a way to ensure that the employee nor the employer receive tampered, misleading or inaccurate results. This process also supports the medical review officer’s goal to deliver the most accurate test results once the sample(s) has been received by the lab.
Drug test payments are
Non-Refundable
The medical review officer will send the lab tested results to the employer and the donor unless a consent form has been signed allowing the test results to go to employer only.
Drug and alcohol testing is not required for employees needing only the DOT Physical to get or renew their Commercial Drivers License or, “CDL”. However, employees who have safety-sensitive positions may be subjected to drug and alcohol testing in the following situations:
Pre-employment:
-
-
- Reasonable Suspicion/ Cause
- Random
- Return-to-duty
- Follow-up
- Post-Accident
-
The drug test examiner will ask the testing donor to specify the reason(s) for testing during specimen sample session. We encourage the donor to select at least one of the above reasons. The donor has a right not to specify, however, the decision not to do so will be included in the drug test report.
G Medical does not offer alcohol testing.
What drugs does the DOT test for?
The Department of Transportation requires a 10 panel drug test in Los Angeles that includes:- Marijuana,
- Opiates(heroin / morphine)
- Amphetamines
- Cocaine
- PCP ( speed )
- Barbiturates
- Benzodiazepine
- Methadone
- Oxycodone
- Propoxyphene
- MDMA ( ecstasy )
These drugs can be detected in the urine, hair, saliva or even the fingernails. The Department of Transportation mandates that all employees be drug tested before attaining employment operating any vehicle 26,000 pounds or more on the road in the United States.
These rules are in place to protect the general public, equipment, cargo and property from those using these drugs before or while operating equipment or vehicles on the job. These drugs impact normal brain activity which can compromise job performance and may lead to undue dangers and risks.
The employee must prove that he is fit to drive on the roads across the United States of America from New York to Los Angeles from Miami to Seattle parts of Mexico and even Canada.
Drivers are required to be coherent, focused and observant at all times to deliver goods and services without being a potential hazard on the job or on the road.
Our mission is to help make sure drivers are fit to drive. Before obtaining employment drivers may be required to submit a drug test.

Drug Test Company in Los Angeles
Every branch of the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) requires a DOT drug test. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) drug tests pilots, flight crews and mechanics as well.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) randomly drug tests truck drivers who operate vehicles over 26,000 pounds as well as drivers of buses carrying more than 16 passengers, including the driver.
Discreet Private Drug Testing
G Medical gives donors the right to test themselves. Self-testing allows one to monitor substances they may have taken or been exposed to. It’s a way to find out if drugs are still in their system.
Some prefer to “pre-test” at our facility before they test at another location. These tests are confidential. We respect your privacy.
We adhere to the standard drug testing guidelines. Secure donor specimens received by a medical review officer, collected at our facility, are subjected to the same privacy guidelines and protocols. Our procedure requires:
- Emptying of pockets
- Washing hands before giving the specimen
- Not flushing the toilet
- Not washing hands until after the bathroom has been inspected
- Specimen being in the proper temperature range
- Someone stationed outside of the bathroom to listen for any strange noises.
